I have been wildly impressed by these boots, but I wanted to give it some time before I wrote my review.
After three years of owning these boots and wearing them nearly every day, I can say with 100% confidence that these are the best boots available, hands down. I’ve long struggled with knee pain, and cycled through at least 15 pairs of boots over the last 20 years. Some were good, none were great.
The comfort of these boots are unlike anything I’ve ever experienced. I regularly hike 10+ miles in a day, and I cover a variety of terrain all over the country: from desert and sand to wet soft ground, from the plains to high mountains. I’ve also worn these boots in temps as low as 0 degrees and as warm as 95 degrees. Below 10 degrees they start to get a little chilly, but just keep moving and you’ll be fine.
They are also shockingly durable. I’ve crashed through very thick brush, tons of thorny cover, and never had an issue with the material breaking down. I also wear these regularly on pavement and have been extremely impressed by the durability of the soles. I’ve replaced the laces once in the three years I’ve owned these boots, and I clean/condition these boots every three or four months.
I look forward to many more years and thousands of miles in these boots. I also cannot say enough about the exceptional customer service offered by the team at Lathrop & Sons. My original boots didn’t fit quite right, and they were more than happy to get on the phone and talk through the feel in detail to make sure my next pair would fit perfectly, which they did.
I recommend these boots to everyone, and I will never wear another pair of boots in my life.
