Several years ago, I purchased a pair of Lathrop & Sons custom boots before heading out on a Bighorn Sheep hunt in Wyoming. At first, they seemed to fit well, but once I got into the mountains, I started having issues — my big toenails would turn black from rubbing on the inside of the boots. I kept trying to make them work on multiple hunts—upland bird, elk, deer, and antelope—but every time I wore them, my feet ended up sore.

After letting them sit for about a year, I got an email from Lathrop & Sons about some of their products. I figured, what the heck, I’ll reach out—even though it had been a couple of years since I bought the boots. Honestly, I didn’t expect a reply.

To my surprise, Morgan got back to me almost immediately. He sent out a new foot-mapping kit and started the process of refitting me for a different pair of boots. I mailed the old boots and mapping kit back, and as it turned out, my original pair was just a bit too small. I never did have the original follow-up fitting call (which probably would have solved the issue early on), but that was no fault of theirs—just something that got missed.

Once my new foot maps were reviewed, Lathrop & Sons sent me a brand-new pair of boots, no hassle at all. We went through the final fitting process carefully before I broke them in for the season.

Now, after several years and many hunts later, I can confidently say these are the best boots I’ve ever owned. The comfort, performance, and quality are second to none. What really stands out, though, is their incredible customer service. Morgan went above and beyond to make sure I was taken care of—even years after my original purchase.

I’m extremely thankful I decided to reach out, and even more thankful that Morgan responded. I could have easily ended up disappointed, but instead, I’m now one of their biggest supporters. Lathrop & Sons truly stands behind their products and their customers.

Always had problems finding a boot that fit properly with my foot issues ,bunions, neuromas, numbness. After talking with Steven and James I was convinced that they truly want to help you get the best fit possible. When the boots arrived the quality was impressive and they fit great . I have been wearing them for a little over two months now and I can honestly say these are the best boots I ever owned.

Ordered the custom boot system for an early season mountain goat in SE Alaska. Feet were comfortable packing in through tough country and packing out heavy. Was very pleased with the entire customization process and the results. Absolutely recommend for anyone looking for boots that will perform in the toughest conditions.

For years I have been purchasing other top name boots, but they seemed to only last maybe 1 or 2 years, and my feet and knees would always hurt after long hikes, or heavy pack outs. Hot spots, blisters on the back of the heel you name it. I got tired of continuing to do this and I had to do something different. I am in the field over 150 days a year guiding and scouting for Arizona Desert Bighorn sheep, elk and deer. a few weeks ago I decided enough was enough. I contacted Lathrop & Sons with my issues and they explained the entire process. I went through with it and as soon as my Mountain Hunter boots arrived I was impressed with the quality and the fit was amazing. The boot and custom insoles felt outstanding. Now the real test was hitting the mountains. Since owning the boots for about a month I have put about 40-50 hard miles on them. Not one blister, not one hot spot and my knees and body feel amazing after a long trek in rough terrain. The boots are solid and tough. Other high dollar boots would have start showing bad wear signs on the toe and rand. Not these, they still look brand new and are the most comfortable boots I have ever owned. This past weekend I was glassing for sheep and found a nice bonus. A record book dead head pickup. Even through I had to put a few more miles on in the heat of the AZ desert navigating the steep rocky terrain I knew I would be in good shape with these boots. If anyone is on the fence with the custom fit process, just do it! You will not be disappointed. Thanks Lathrop&Sons for the custom fit and boots. I wish I would have done this sooner.

First try was wow what a fit. Footbed was comfortable. My ankle felt locked in and room for my toes. See I have a wide forefoot narrow heels. My left is the worst. I was in a position to finally fit the bill so I did. So far
