Right out of the box the quality and design stands out as exceptional and then you put them on and it gets even better. These boots showed up right before my alpine mule deer hunt in bc and I had no time to break them in so I walked around the block a few times and decided to take them out. I put 85 miles or 137km on this trip in the mountains and they were everything I had ever dreamed of on the 9 previous pairs of boots that I had bought that were either to narrow or to soft of a sole. I can pretty much throw all the other boots I own out because they will never get used again this boot is basically perfect and built to maximum quality. I have. 4 5/8 wide foot so boots have been a huge challenge until now. Thank you guys so much for building the only true mountain boot for big feet all the rest are going in the garbage.
I’ve just started hunting in my new mountain hunter super wide boots and am very satisfied with their performance. I’ve been out archery hunting several days over the last couple weeks and they are very comfortable and feel great to walk in. I am very excited to finally have a pair of comfortable well made hunting boots for seasons to come.
Yesterday I received my new Lathrop & Sons “Mountain Hunter, Super Wide” Boots. These boots are in a league of their own as the craftsmanship, build and materials are top drawer.
I am hesitant to go into the details, however the rubber Vibram soles are solid and appear softer and grippier as compared to my other boots. The leather and stitching of the uppers are solid and what you would expect from a tier one boot. The integrity is all there.
In the past, when I have purchased other boots, I have had to try on multiple pairs as well as mix and match one boot to the other. Not with these. They fit pretty much perfect right out of the box. In addition, I worked with “James” to get the correct fit, and he hit a home run. I have been wearing them all day, and although lined with 200 grams of Thinsulate, they aren’t hot and there are no hot spots to speak of. Also, I don’t think that there is a needed break in, (hard to believe). I couldn’t give the Lathrop’s more praise. Thank You for being here and providing me with a pair of awesome boots.

If you are like me and have a very difficult time finding boots that fit your feet, you have to consider these boots. I have struggled for YEARS finding a boot that actually fit my feet. Best I could do was "these feel okay". After researching and talking with James, I did the 3D mapping and had boots made for my feet. OMG! I should have done this years ago. Best pair of boots I have ever worn. Well worth the dollars! You won't be disappointed.
